Radioactive Decay Rates

Recently, at the local young-Earth creationist group meeting, I heard a lecture from a speaker presuming accelerated radioactive decay rates early in Earth's history.

I had heard of such questionable pseudo-physics theory before, along with assertion that the light from light-years-distant stars went faster than The Speed of Light so that we could see it now -- all in the name of trying to prove a young Earth thousands and not millions of years old.

Now, I believe that there is enough realistic and sensible proof to declare that our planet and the entire universe surrounding it is indeed no more than 8000 years old.

However, when ridiculous and illogical baggage is added by pseudo-creationists to that young-creation science, it makes legitimate Biblical creationists look like fools, and reminds me of the Scripture verse against the ignorant and twisted who "make God out to be a liar" so that "the name of God is blasphemed among the nations" because of them.

The name of scientific young-Earth creationism is indeed ridiculed by evolutionists and naturalists who associate foolish mis-assertions (by some pseudo-creationists) with bonafide and genuine Biblical creationism.

I could tell there was something screwy when the changing-decay-rates-presuming goof started out associating diffusion of always-nonradioactive helium (which helium obviously never involves changing decay rates being that there are never any radioactive isotopes of helium to decay) . . . with changing radioactive decay rates.

Quickly diverting to the subject of radioactive-isotope Carbon 14, the goony lecturer correctly assumed that the half-lives of Carbon 14 are constant (thereby contradicting his own changing-decay-rates presumption) down to the nth power, to the extent that there should be no presently-detectable Carbon 14 now observable if the Earth was even a million years old . . .unless Carbon 14 was added to the system meanwhile thus making it impossible to accurately measure initial amounts and the limited-parameter decay into Nitrogen 14 pertaining to only those initial amounts. . .

. . . unless Carbon 14 was added to the system meanwhile thus making it impossible to accurately measure initial amounts and the limited-parameter decay into Nitrogen 14 pertaining to only those initial amounts.

The repetition above was deliberate, and it clearly reveals the complete inadequacy and insufficiency of relying on non-known amounts of radioactive isotopes decaying, both initial (or parent) amounts and also additional (or pollutive) amounts.....in attempting to credibly calculate time periods.

When questioned by an audience member, the devious lecturer finally ended up saying that God simply stretched His natural physics laws in a "exceptional" way to accelerate radioactive decay around the time of The Worldwide Flood, even though the lecturer admitted that the tremendous heat resulting from that accelerated radioactive decay would have melted the Earth (although he tried to irrationalize that one by another "exceptional" dispensational miracle from God).

The existence of radioactivity-caused halos in polonium was no proof of changing-decay-rates either.

God Himself is not whimsically capricious nor illogically changeable, and His works in nature reflect that constancy.

As the Psalmist David in Psalm 93:1 wrote: "The LORD reigns; He is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed, He is attired with strength. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved."
Psalm 96:10 = Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns! Yes, the world is established, it shall never be moved; He will judge the peoples with equity."
Psalm 148:6 states: "And He established them forever; He fixed their bounds which cannot be passed."
Proverbs 8:27 adds: "When He established the heavens, I was there, when He drew a circle on the face of the deep."
Proverbs 30:4 continues: "Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name? Surely you know!"
Isaiah 45:18 reads thus: "For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (He is God!), who formed the earth and made it (He established it; He did not create it a chaos, He formed it to be inhabited!): "I am the LORD, and there is no other."
Jeremiah 10:12 reminds us: "It is He who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His wisdom, and by His understanding stretched out the heavens."
Jeremiah 51:15 repeats: "It is He who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His wisdom, and by His understanding stretched out the heavens."
Finally, "....His works were finished from the foundation of the world" (Hebrews 4:3).

Joshua proclaiming occurrence of an extra-long day is one thing, and opening up the Red Sea, sundial shadows going backwards, iron axeheads floating, Jesus walking on the water, and raising Lazarus back to life from the dead are others . . . but NO accelerating radioactive decay rates are Scripturally inferred by the Holy Spirit, who reveals His secrets to his autographic saints.

One thing leading to another, changing-decay-rates absurdity would have had a cascading domino-effect chaotic effect against one after another phenomenon of nature, resulting in rather-prompt annihilation against everything God had created. Sort of like the never-never-land preposterous postulation of going back in history and time to attempt changing even one infinitesmal thing -- resulting in everything else being catastrophically changed consequentially thereafter.

The everything-is-slowing-down clowns need to rightly adjust their presumptive clocks and timers.
